I didn’t order the Pizza


Time for some fights.

Our CEO decided to do a quick roam, so we got into some shield fit cruisers and started wandering. I took a Scimitar as I am such a Logibro, but I threw in a 250mm autocannon in a high slot instead of my usual smart-bomb for Kill-mail shenanigans.

A few jumps down and we find ourselves on the other end of a gate with 300 guys in the other side. 300 vs 12. Not good odds, So we hang around the gate hoping to grab a few kills, but to no avail. However we did find the flow path for pods on the way back, so we cracked three empty eggs before returning. Not too bad, even if we didn’t get a fight.

Next up, a quick tower popping. It was slow, so we dropped a few dreads to speed things along. Always helpful to keep the isk flowing for our SRP.

The 7pm roam was the main event though. 40 of us in Nano Shield ships. I was part of a 4 man logi wing (3 scimitars and a scythe). No specific ship, just fast brawling damage and good tank. I kept my corp scimitar build with the EM smart-bomb 2 in the highs. Fit below.

The roam was mostly without much incident. A few people tried to bait us into station games. No dice. But we heard of a nice 60 man rupture gang just waiting to be kicked in.

Time to clean house.

We sat on the opposite gate to them and started to burn away as it got bubbled in preparation. The Logi wing went to get some distance and keep the DPS between us as the Ruptures jumped in.

The Rupture DPS came in hard. Our lone scythe took stupid damage and was pounded into structure as he was primaried, a few slivers of HP left.

Then the reps landed.

Our reps were keeping him up. And the frustration for the other fleet began.

The DPS was not breaking the reps, and it wasn’t as fast as it needed to be to get ships off the field. And we were melting the ruptures fast.

ECM drones were swarming me, and I got jammed once, but that Smartbomb, such an MVP, cleared them off in short order, and we were back in the game. It was frantic and awesome.

Things were looking up.

Then Pizza arrived with a T3 fleet and POP, I was dead. Oracles and Tornadoes. DAMN YOU!!!

Lots and lots of alpha. With our logi wing gone after 4 alpha hits (no damage to popped instantly) we were done. I fled the field and so did the rest if our guys. We couldn’t engage the T3’s at that distance, and it was just a killing floor.

Man, it was such a good fight. I think we could have won the field with the rupture gang.

Good fight.  Thank you to the Pizza and Renegades Council fleets for getting in there, and making a fight happen.

Crashing Z9PP (literally)


There was an epic fight (Article here: http://themittani.com/news/battle-z9pp-eve-players-vs-servers) over in Fountain the other day. Why not crash it? It was onTwitch TV (Prop to Mad Ani: Link here: http://www.twitch.tv/mad_ani.)  Booyah!

For shits and giggles we set up a quick fleet to go in and try to alpha people. My time spent training Battlecruiser to 5 meant that I could fly a Minmitar T3 battlecruiser for this fleet. I may not have T2 projectile skills, but that didn’t matter. taking the time to get BC 5 and Destroyer 5 has been such a boon. BC’s are useful in most fleets, and the extra bonuses really do help.

The ship was designed to be popped. If you were expecting to survive the fleet, then you were mistaken. Cheap Meta 4 guns with some mods to boost range and targeting. Lock target at 140km and shoot. The Uranium allows for good optimal range and you can apply pretty good dps as a result.

We had about 30 people in fleet, making us a very nice T3 snipe gank. Get in, align to celestial, pick primary, pop primary, warp off before the massed bombers get you. We daisy chained soem titan bridges to get us there fast, which was an awesome sight to see. Force projection at its finest.

It didn’t go as expected. Our first mistake was that 10% tidi makes everything reallly slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. Our second mistake was warping to the same sniping perch twice. Foolish humans.

We dodged the first bombing run, warping out matrix style as the bomb just got to where we were. Skills.

Returning to the same location wasn’t the best idea. At 10% tidi we had all the time to see the MWD Sabre screaming towards us as the FC starts telling us all to align. It didn’t help. The bubble went up and POP, we lost half the fleet. The good thing is that the bubble popped as well as the Sabre, letting the survivors warp off. I was lucky, only losing my Tornado, and avoiding pod loss. And the best bit was seeing our demise on Mad Ani’s twitch stream. The humiliation!

I say lucky, as the out gate 1 jump out was camped by Snigwaffe, and I lost the pod. but, it saved me 32 jumps home.

We got in, tried to get a few kills, got a few kills, and all died in a fire. Op success.

Don’t be afraid to get blown up in a cheap ship. So much fun.

The end result was the crash of the node. Bad in that it prevented any escalations and the fight was aborted. as much as we like shooting CFC, we’d prefer legitimate wins, and not via Force Majeur.
