Structure shoots are boring. Wait…why am i having fun?

Fleet broadcast went up and I joined. We were requested to bring Rokh and Scimitars. I eschewed my usual Logistics and instead wanted to shoot things. So out comes the Rokh.

The request was for Blaster Rokh’s. So fitting ahoy. I used my Railgun fit as a base and added blasters. And a little bit of extra tracking.

Yeah, with this fit you can spring some serious damage. It isnt designed for manouverability. Its designed to land at zero and wreck face. With a good tank and serious DPS.

However, the fleet battle was not to be, as we were killing moon towers.

And this comes down to the whole “Why we fight”.

The FC was clear in letting us know we were there to support our Dreads who were knocking down some towers. We were there to provide cover, prevent tackle, and keep the op safe. In addition the FC let us all know the reason for knocking out the Towers. Doing this removes a strong income stream, and we can take over the moons for ourselves.

So we knew why we were there.

Sure, no fleet battle occurred, but we popped three towers, all done very quickly (one seige cycle). The FC made sure everyone got a chance to hit the towers to get on the KM, and got us home quick. We do love being on KM’s.

I know that tower and sov and structure shoots can be boring as all hell. But if you tell your pilots the stakes, and get them to buy into the reason for doing them, then even the boring POS turkey shoot can be an enjoyable experience.
